1. Introduction

All services are provided under a written service agreement or proposal outlining scope, fees, and timelines.

3. Eligibility

You must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have legal capacity to enter a binding agreement
• Provide accurate and complete information

4. Quotes, Payments and Refunds

4.1 Quotes

All quotes are valid for 14 days unless otherwise stated.

4.2 Payment Terms

• A non-refundable deposit (typically 30–50%) is required before work commences.
• Remaining balance must be paid as per the agreed milestone schedule.
• Work may be paused or withheld if payments are not made on time.

4.3 Refund Policy

Due to the customised nature of writing and editing services:

• Deposits are non-refundable once work has commenced.
• Refunds are not provided for completed work.
• In exceptional cases, partial refunds may be considered at our discretion.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Client Ownership

Upon full payment, the Client retains full copyright ownership of the completed manuscript.

5.2 Company Rights

We retain the right to:

• Display non-confidential excerpts in our portfolio (unless otherwise agreed in writing)
• Credit our company for editorial or formatting services

5.3 Third-Party Materials

The Client warrants that any materials provided do not infringe copyright, trademarks, or other rights.

6. Confidentiality

We treat all manuscripts and client information as confidential and will not disclose materials to third parties without consent, except where required by law.

7. Revisions and Approval

• Revision rounds are limited as specified in the service agreement.
• Additional revisions outside scope may incur extra fees.
• Final approval must be provided in writing before publication support is completed.

8. Publishing Disclaimer

We assist with publishing processes but:

• Do not guarantee acceptance by traditional publishers
• Do not guarantee book sales, rankings, or commercial success
• Are not responsible for third-party platform decisions (e.g., Amazon, Apple Books, etc.)

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.
• Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Australian law.

10. Client Responsibilities

The Client agrees to:

• Provide timely feedback and approvals
• Supply accurate and lawful content
• Ensure they have rights to any third-party materials submitted

Delays caused by the Client may affect agreed timelines.

11. Website Use

You must not:

• Use our website for unlawful purposes
• Attempt to interfere with site security
• Copy or reproduce website content without permission

All website content remains the intellectual property of Australian Authors.

12. Privacy

We collect and handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable Australian privacy laws.

13. Termination

We may terminate services if:

• Payments are not made
• The Client breaches these Terms
• There is abusive or inappropriate conduct

Any work completed up to termination must be paid for.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of Australian courts.

15. Amendments

We may update these Terms at any time. The updated version will be published on our website with a revised effective date.
